Meet Mariana

I'm Mariana Paixao, from Sorocaba — a city 80 km from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I have a degree in Journalism, but most of my career was in car dealerships: salesperson and manager for brands like Toyota, Honda, and General Motors.

In 2015, my son finished college and I decided it was time for an adventure. I moved to Ireland to learn English — planning to stay for just one year. I got a job in a cleaning company and discovered I was a "cleaning freak" with a talent for sales. I was promoted to supervisor.

Then I met my partner, an Irishman, and fell in love — with him and with this country. Six years later, I have no plans to leave. I feel as Irish as I am Brazilian.

The Samba Story

I started Samba Cleaning in May 2019, cleaning common areas in apartment blocks for BMG Property Management. Word spread. Soon I was getting clients through recommendations — people who were happy with our work told their friends.

Today, I lead a team of seven cleaners — all Brazilian women with similar backgrounds to mine and the same passion for excellence. We're not just cleaners. We bring the warmth, energy, and rhythm of Brazil to every space we touch. That's why we're called Samba.

"The idea to start a cleaning company came naturally when I realised I could put together my two passions: cleaning and business."

— Mariana Paixao, Founder
